How to defy the law by playing a game

The Uncensored Library with cencored articles for all

What if the country you live in forbids you to read certain articles or visit certain websites? Well, you play a game, of course.

The Uncensored Library is made by Reporters Without Borders and DDB Germany. It is a game where players can read a whole database full of articles that are banned in certain countries. The Library is build in Minecraft, a very popular video game. In this case, the Library looks like a giant palace with beautiful gardens to explore.

On June 9 2021, ACED organised Designalism: Design + Journalism, a live talk show about the intersection of design and journalism. Watch the full show on our YouTube channel. This evening was in collaboration with Beeld en Geluid Den Haag.
