What makes a news photo successful or not? Visual artist Coralie Vogelaar and choreographer Marjolein Vogels explored the underlying compositional patterns of popular news imagery. This video is shown on our event Designalism: Design + Journalism.

Together, they made a performance that shows their findings. In the video below, you can see recognizalble images and compositions of protests, riots and victim's scenes.
